Washington has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Lincoln Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Washington will be strutting in after a win while Lincoln will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Saturday, Washington had just enough and edged Willow Glen out 49-47.
Korey Abantao continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 12 points along with 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Chiu, who scored 9 points.
Meanwhile, Lincoln fought the good fight in their overtime game against Athenian on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Owls by a score of 70-67. While losing is never fun, Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 674th, while Athenian is ranked 125th).
Washington's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Lincoln, they have fallen quite a ways from their 27-4 record last season and are now at 2-5.
Things could have been worse for Washington, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 76-62 loss to Lincoln in their previous meeting back in February. Can Washington avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
