The biggest upset of the week belonged to Mifflin County, who took down 238th ranked Carlisle, 35-27. Shane Whalen threw for 175 yards and one touchdown in the win.
Ben Fernback of Cumberland Valley ran for the longest rushing play in Mid-Penn - Commonwealth this season against Central Dauphin East last week. Fernback ran for 90 yards on the play and finished with 125 on the day as his team beat the Panthers.
Brandon Lavia and Drew Scales gave Central Dauphin a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Lavia threw for 154 yards and four touchdowns, while Scales ran for 152 yards. Zayd Issah also contributed to the rushing game with 102 yards on the ground.
John Michael Maclay was the best wideout in the league this week as the Huskies beat the Thundering Herd. Maclay tallied three receptions for 114 yards. Heath Hidlay helped Mifflin County's passing attack out by catching one ball for 33 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Lavia of the Rams is the league leader in passing yards this season with 489. He has also thrown seven touchdowns. On the ground, Cumberland Valley's Tyler Hartzel has rushed for 372 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Maclay. The Mifflin County star has seven catches for 206 yards.
A big matchup in Mid-Penn - Commonwealth this week will be when Harrisburg takes on Mifflin County. As it stands, the Cougars are in third, while George Miskinis's team is in second.
The Huskies moved up to 160 from 286 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Mifflin County was able to make the jump by beating Carlisle 35-27.
