On Friday, The St. Joseph Jayhawks faced the Altamont Longhorns in a battle between two of the state's top teams. St. Joseph was dealt a 92-33 loss at the hands of Altamont. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Leading Altamont to victory were Dillon Ivie and Brayden Webb. Ivie gained 282 total yards and three touchdowns, while Webb rushed for 98 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Thatcher Rust was another key contributor, gaining 234 total yards.
St. Joseph are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Altamont, they, and Water Canyon. As for Altamont, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
St. Joseph does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Altamont is on the road again on Friday and play against Monticello at 1:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Monticello is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
