The St. Joseph Academy Jaguars will venture away from home to challenge the Brookside Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Joseph Academy has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 17.

St. Joseph Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Silvia Lanese, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
Brookside let Firelands stack five runs on them in the first inning on Saturday but luckily Brookside prevailed anyway. The Cardinals skirted past the Falcons 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cardinals have posted since May 7, 2024.
Markie-Ann Aliff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and four unearned) runs on 11 hits. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.
At the plate, Brookside got a big performance out of Trinity Arend, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Arend has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Khloe Racz, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Brookside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Brookside is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-15 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for St. Joseph Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.
St. Joseph Academy skirted past Brookside 4-3 in their previous matchup back in March of 2021. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
