The Reeltown Rebels struggled with assists on Wednesday (the LaFayette Bulldogs had 17 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Reeltown was outmatched by LaFayette on the road and fell 65-33. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Reeltown has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Reeltown lost, one person who can't be blamed is Finn Henderson. Despite the final result, he scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Deaundra Vines was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with seven assists and five steals for LaFayette. Vines has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Vaderrian Story, who scored 18 points.
Reeltown's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for LaFayette, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reeltown will take on Beulah at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for LaFayette, they will play host again and welcome Lanett, where tip off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Lanett will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while LaFayette is ranked 117th).
