Hershey is 9-1 against Kimball since December of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Panthers will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. Hershey has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight defeats, while Kimball will come in with five straight victories.
On Saturday, Hershey came up short against St. Patrick's and fell 64-52.
Hershey might have lost, but man, Houston Hill was a machine: he went 5-for-12 en route to 20 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ryan Murphy, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards.
Meanwhile, Kimball strolled past Torrington with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 64-47. Give the Longhorns' offense some serious credit: that high-scoring performance was actually the fewest points they've scored all season.
Kimball's win came from a few key players Hershey will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Braxton Miller, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 15 points and seven rebounds. What's more, he also posted a 60% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in January. Trevor Fuss was another key player, putting up 12 points and four steals.
Kimball smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.
Kimball's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Hershey, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Hershey has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 34 boards per game. However, it's not like Kimball struggles in that department as they've been averaging 39 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Hershey ended up a good deal behind Kimball when the teams last played back in December of 2024, losing 67-50. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
