It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Westminster Lions had no problem doing just that on Friday. They didn't even let Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary onto the board and left with a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Westminster.
Benny Burns ii threw for 116 yards on six of 17 attempts. Ethan Cedillo was his top target, picking up 59 receiving yards. On the ground, Ezekiel Cedillo rushed for 34 yards.
Westminster has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 9-3.
Westminster will head out on the road to face off against Poly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Poly will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
