After a string of three wins, the College Prep & Leadership Academy Royals's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were outmatched by Dudley at home and fell 76-46. While losing is never fun, College Prep & Leadership Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 340th, while Dudley is ranked 149th).
Despite the loss, College Prep & Leadership Academy saw an underclassman step up: Bryce Mckenzie scored 16 points. Mckenzie continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Tyrie Pressley was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
College Prep & Leadership Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Dudley, they pushed their record up to 7-5 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
College Prep & Leadership Academy will challenge Southeast Guilford at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dudley, they will be playing at home against Southern Guilford at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Southern Guilford is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
