Basketball Recap: Munster Has No Trouble Against Griffith

Munster won the last time they faced Griffith and things went their way on Thursday too. Everything went the Munster Mustangs' way against the Griffith Panthers as the Munster Mustangs made off with a 49-25 win. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 23 points or more this season.

Munster had a senior duo take command as Nina Garner went 6 for 10 on her way to 12 points and five steals and Cecilia Mason posted 14 points and six assists. Garner has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Igboamaka Odeluga was another key player, putting up eight points and ten boards.

When it comes to explaining why Griffith lost, don't look at Maddy Ladendorf. Despite the final result, she put up 12 points and five rebounds. That's the most boards Ladendorf has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Briana Esquivel, who earned no points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Munster and bumps their season record up to 10-7. As for Griffith, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Munster has already played their next game, a 69-27 loss against Rensselaer Central on the 11th. Griffith has also already played their next contest (against Wheeler), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
