Alexander Central is 9-1 against Lake Norman since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Alexander Central will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.

Alexander Central had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Watauga on Tuesday. The Cougars blew past the Pioneers 10-0. Considering the Cougars have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Lake Norman sidestepped A.L. Brown for an 11-10 victory.

Evelyn Adams was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Kaylee Harris was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double.

Lake Norman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Lake Norman is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Alexander Central, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-1.

Everything went Alexander Central's way against Lake Norman when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Alexander Central made off with a 10-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
