The Westmont Sentinels won the last time they faced the Walther Christian Academy Broncos, and things went their way on Saturday too. Westmont narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Walther Christian Academy 49-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Westmont.
Walther Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kilee Wilkins, who scored 11 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilkins has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Rivera, who scored 15 points.
Westmont's victory bumped their record up to 12-13. As for Walther Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 10-13 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westmont will take on Yorkville Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Walther Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Josephinum at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Josephinum is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
