Sports & Medical Sciences Academy is 8-2 against the Raiders since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Sports & Medical Sciences Academy Tigers will look to defend their home court against the Windsor Locks Raiders at 6:45 p.m. Sports & Medical Sciences Academy will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Sports & Medical Sciences Academy stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Stafford 69-46. Given Sports & Medical Sciences Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 129th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Windsor Locks pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Windsor. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (55), Windsor Locks still had to take the loss.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Kyle Hinckley, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Jack Grasso was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Sports & Medical Sciences Academy pushed their record up to 11-3 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Windsor Locks, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-4.
Sports & Medical Sciences Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Raiders when the teams last played back in March of 2023, but they still walked away with a 51-45 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Windsor Locks' Evan Courtney, who scored 20 points along with two steals. Now that he won't be playing on Monday, will it be that much easier for Sports & Medical Sciences Academy to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
