El Camino (Oceanside, Calif.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat
Vista (Calif.), 35-10, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Justin Williams touchdown run in the first quarter, the Wildcats led 21-7 at the half.
El Camino expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. EC scored two times in the third, including once on a defensive touchdown.
The Panthers'
Jacob Bedford played well. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to two on the year.
The Oceanside school's standout player in the win was Williams. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns.
Vista's lone touchdown came on a 2-yard run by Bedford in the second quarter.
The Wildcats came in allowing an average of 22.0 points per game this season. El Camino held firm on the defensive front, and kept VHS above the 5.9 points it had been averaging per game.
EC got revenge for last year's 21-14 loss to the Panthers with the victory.
With the win the Wildcats extended their winning streak to three games.
El Camino (6-3) will play a Avocado - West game against Oceanside next week, while Vista (2-7) will take on Carlsbad also in a Avocado - West game.
