It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Turner Ashby Knights had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 35-7 victory over Spotswood. Considering Turner Ashby has won ten games by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Beau Baylor was on fire: he rushed for 135 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and also threw for seven yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Baylor was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Micah Matthews also helped out with an impressive 89 receiving yards.
The win makes it two in a row for Turner Ashby and bumps their season record up to 11-1. As for Spotswood, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2.
Turner Ashby will head out on the road to face off against Liberty Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Liberty Christian's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last ten games. Spotswood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
