It was a good run, but Burney unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. The matchup between them and the Chester Volcanoes didn't end well, with the Burney Raiders falling 50-33. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-44 back in December of 2024.

Burney lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Hayden Bower, who posted seven points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cort Covert, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds.

Burney's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Chester, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Burney will take on Butte Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Burney is facing Butte Valley at the right time seeing as Butte Valley is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Chester, they will square off against CORE Butte at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
