After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Hogan Prep Charter, the Richmond Spartans were happy to have found some success  on Saturday. In a tight  matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a  49-48 victory over Oak Grove. This was payback for Richmond, who suffered a  70-67  defeat the last time these two teams met.
 Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Maurkalip Riley, who  scored 14 points along with three  steals. The  match was  Riley's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Aaron Reeves, who  scored 14 points along with five  rebounds and five  steals.
 Even though they lost, Oak Grove  were smashing the offensive glass and  finished the game with 18  offensive rebounds. That's the most  offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
 The  victory  got Richmond back to even at 2-2. As for Oak Grove,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 3-3.
 Richmond will be staying on the road  on Tuesday to face off against Knob Noster at 7:30  p.m.  on December 12th. Knob Noster knows how to get  points on the board -- the  squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Richmond likes a good challenge. As for Oak Grove, they will face off against Odessa at 7:30  p.m.  on Monday.
