Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Leroy walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 62-60 victory over the Eagles on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Leroy.
Leroy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ray Phillips out in front who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Phillips has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. Malik Howell was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, McIntosh put the finishing touches on their 13th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Fruitdale 88-17 at home. While fans of McIntosh might be used to big wins, the 71-point margin marked the team's biggest victory yet this season.
Leroy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season. As for McIntosh, they pushed their record up to 22-4 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Leroy ended up a good deal behind McIntosh in their previous meeting back in January, losing 62-47. Can Leroy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
