The Yates Lions suffered their biggest loss since November 28, 2023 on Monday. They were beaten by Washington 98-54. Yates has struggled against Washington recently, as their match on Monday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Washington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chris Mcdermott, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 20 rebounds. Mcdermott is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Odis Carter was another key contributor, scoring 23 points along with five assists.
Yates' loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Washington, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yates will take on Worthing at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Worthing is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. Washington will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against North Forest at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. North Forest is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
