Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Savannah). They managed a 63-58 victory over the Lawson Cardinals on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Savages also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Lawson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaac Willoughby, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Andrew Phipps, who went 7 of 13 en route to 18 points and eight rebounds.

The win got Savannah back to even at 2-2. As for Lawson, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Savannah wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 36-32 defeat against Nodaway Valley co-op [West Nodaway/Nodaway-Holt] on the 28th. As for Lawson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-50 loss against Pleasant Hill on the 28th.
