Grand Valley has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Southeast Pirates at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Grand Valley will be strutting in after a win while Southeast will be coming in after a loss.
Last Thursday, Grand Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Crestwood, but they still walked away with a 40-36 win. Given Grand Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while Crestwood is ranked 565th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Southeast's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to Aquinas.
Grand Valley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Southeast, they bumped their record down to 6-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
