After two games on the road, Minor is heading back home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Shelby County Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Minor is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Shelby County in Alabama (Minor is ranked 61st, while Shelby County is ranked 420th).
Last Tuesday, Minor humbled Center Point with a 69-41 victory.
Minor's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Matthew Grice, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carmelo Burroughs, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Shelby County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Childersburg at home and fell 72-27. Shelby County has not had much luck with Childersburg recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Minor's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Shelby County, they bumped their record down to 5-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
