Starmount is 9-1 against Alleghany since November of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rams will face off against the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.
Starmount's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Elkin 55-0. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Buckin' Elks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Deuce Best was his usual excellent self, throwing for 188 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 31 yards and a pair of scores. Those 188 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Starmount also got a significant boost from Jymir Billips, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 175 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Starmount was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 285 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive matches.
Starmount didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Landry Mathis and Ryley Rodriguez.
Meanwhile, Alleghany hadn't done well against Ashe County recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Trojans blew past the Huskies, posting a 49-14 win. While the Trojans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-6), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Starmount better keep an eye on John LeMasters. He was instrumental in Alleghany's win, rushing for 200 yards and two TDs while picking up 11.8 yards per carry, and also throwing for 45 yards and one touchdown. LeMasters showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 52 yards. Aiden Love was another key player, gaining 104 total yards and two touchdowns.
Starmount's record now sits at 3-1. As for Alleghany, their record is now 4-0.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Starmount has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 173.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Alleghany struggles in that department as they've been averaging 311 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Starmount against Alleghany in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 49-0 victory. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
