Curlew skirted past Almira-Coulee-Hartline 39-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Curlew has posted yet this season.
Emma Lena Baker was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Malia Sonsteng, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Northport had to endure an eight-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They secured a 36-32 W over Selkirk on Saturday. That four points margin sets a new team best for Northport this season.
Curlew's victory was their 11th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1. As for Northport, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-7.
