New Hampton School has gone a perfect 6-0 against Tilton School recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Huskies will welcome the Rams at 2:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (New Hampton School has five straight wins, Tilton School has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
New Hampton School will bounce into Saturday's game after beating St. Paul's, who they had gone 0-7 against in their seven prior meetings. The Huskies came out on top against the Big Red by a score of 9-6 on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Ollie Quong was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was George Kavanaugh, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Tilton School's offense. They came up short against Proctor Academy on Wednesday, falling 10-0.
Tilton School saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matt Weitzman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Tilton School's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for New Hampton School, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
Tilton School's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. New Hampton School has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Tilton School, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 strikeouts. Will New Hampton School keep running through batters, or will the Rams buck the trend?
New Hampton School got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Tilton School by a conclusive 12-0 score. Will the Huskies repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
