The Chiles Timberwolves will take on the Mosley Dolphins at TBD on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chiles has three straight wins, the Dolphins have three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Thursday, Chiles made easy work of the Scorpions and carried off a 45-23 victory. Given Chiles' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Scorpions are ranked 614th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Faith Durden was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Chiles' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Poole, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Mosley had to suffer through a rough 66-28 loss at the hands of the Eagles. Mosley has struggled against the Eagles recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Chiles' victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Mosley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season.
Chiles strolled past the Dolphins when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 59-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chiles since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
