Jolie Vidrine spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Maci Droddy was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Aubree Guillory, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Sacred Heart hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Oakdale got themselves on the board against Marksville on Tuesday, but Marksville never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Tigers. The Warriors have beaten the Tigers the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.
Ainslie Willis was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Willis was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, Oakdale got a massive performance out of Kaylee Bradley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three runs. That's the most hits Bradley has posted since back in March of 2024. Kinslee Monk was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Oakdale's win bumped their record up to 12-7-1. As for Sacred Heart, their victory bumped their record up to 17-8.
Sacred Heart was able to grind out a solid win over Oakdale when the teams last played back in March of 2018, winning 4-1. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
