The Newport - Bellevue Knights will head out on the road to face off against the North Creek Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Newport - Bellevue is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 12-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Even though Eastlake scored an imposing 57 points on Wednesday, Newport - Bellevue still came out on top. Newport - Bellevue secured a 61-57 W over the Wolves. The victory was just what Newport - Bellevue needed coming off of a 79-48 defeat in their prior matchup.
It was another big night for Jace Rainey, who scored 31 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Carnrite, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, North Creek pushed their score all the way to 59 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 71-59 to Redmond.
Romen Jackson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Cris Bonicillo, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Newport - Bellevue's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-18. As for North Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Newport - Bellevue have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 21.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like North Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Newport - Bellevue might still be hurting after the 93-68 defeat they got from the Jaguars in their previous meeting back in January.
