Vardaman has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the North Pontotoc Vikings at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
On Tuesday, Vardaman had to suffer through a rough 73-40 loss at the hands of Houlka.
Meanwhile, North Pontotoc's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 59-39 loss at the hands of South Pontotoc. While losing is never fun, North Pontotoc can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while South Pontotoc is ranked 50th).
Vardaman's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-5. As for North Pontotoc, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
