Justin Wyatt Jr. Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Justin Wyatt Jr. produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Highland to the win on Friday. Wyatt Jr. threw for 269 yards and five touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 55 yards and two touchdowns. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 3.1 passing touchdowns per game. Highland is undefeated when Wyatt Jr. posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise.
If history really does repeat itself, Wyatt Jr. might just drop another big game when he faces off against Lancaster on Thursday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Wyatt Jr. saw the Eagles), he rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 153 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.

A Season-Best Performance from Jacob Walker Leads Lancaster over Knight
On Friday, Lancaster got the W thanks in part to Jacob Walker playing the best football he has all season. Walker rushed for 184 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.
The win (which was Lancaster's fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2. Walker and Lancaster will welcome Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Suarez Made His Presence Known in Palmdale's 59-0 Victory
Palmdale picked up their third consecutive win on Thursday thanks in part to Joshua Suarez. Nobody could stop Suarez as he threw for 211 yards and five touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Suarez is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: he's passed for at least four every time he's taken the field this season.
The win got Palmdale back to even at 4-4. Suarez and Palmdale will venture away from home to square off against Eastside at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Demond Blanchard Dazzles in Highland Victory
Demond Blanchard was instrumental in extending Highland's winning streak to five on Friday. Blanchard was unstoppable, picking up 164 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 74 yards.

Jaden Graham Rounds Out Top Five
Rounding off our Top Five is Jaden Graham of Quartz Hill. Graham rushed for 89 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. He is becoming a predictor of Quartz Hill's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 1-3 when he doesn't).
Graham is probably looking forward to his next game, a road matchup against Antelope Valley on Friday. Graham rushed for 201 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry the last time he and the Antelopes duked it out back in October of 2023.
