Kyndall Carroll made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Carroll was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Jaylin Forbes was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Heath, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.
Piketon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westfall only posted an OBP of .385.
McClain's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Piketon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.
McClain came out on top in a nail-biter against Piketon when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 13-12.
