Basketball Recap: Arianna Miranda Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Grace Christian Academy

On Monday, the Newman International Academy Warriors strolled past the Grace Christian Academy Colts with points to spare, taking the game 53-36. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Newman International Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Arianna Miranda, who went 11 for 21 on her way to 27 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Miranda's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Pillow, who posted 15 points along with seven boards and six steals.

Newman International Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Grace Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Newman International Academy will square off against ILTexas Arlington at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Grace Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
