The Blair Blazers and the Tuscarora Titans will round out the year against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Thursday, Blair ended up a good deal behind Kennedy and lost 46-30.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-40, which was the final score in Tuscarora's tilt against Frederick on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Tuscarora can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while Frederick is ranked 25th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Alana Moxley, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kieryn Gomez, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Blair's record now sits at 0-2. Tuscarora's record now sits at 1-4.
Blair was able to grind out a solid victory over Tuscarora when the teams last played back in December of 2014, winning 51-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Blair since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
