Cairo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shanti Taylor led the charge by scoring 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Taylor has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Trinty Posey, who scored 20 points.
Cairo's win bumped their record up to 7-16. As for Caruthersville, their loss was their 12th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-6.
Cairo will take on Paducah Tilghman at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Caruthersville won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Malden at 4:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Malden presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Caruthersville in Missouri (Malden is ranked 244th, while Caruthersville is ranked 490th).
