After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Westwood Baptist Academy, the Eagle Ridge Christian Eagles were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They walked away with a 52-45 win over Providence Classical Christian Academy. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Eagle Ridge Christian also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Eagle Ridge Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chase WIlliams, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points WIlliams has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Noah Simpson, who scored 19 points.
Providence Classical Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben Mattull, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. Mattull has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last five times he's played. Lance Zrodlowski was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Eagle Ridge Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Providence Classical Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Eagle Ridge Christian will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mississippi Valley Christian at 6:30 p.m. Eagle Ridge Christian is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season. As for Providence Classical Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Tuesday.
