2A District 6 recap November 13, 2013
Vian added to the longest winning streak in 2A District 6 this week by beating Panama, 33-0. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Wolverines.
Pocola made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 13,186 from 13,331. The improvement was largely due to a 28-18 victory over Mountainburg last week.
De'Aundre Wilkins threw for 194 yards and 2 touchdowns. He went 7-15 with 3 interceptions.
Eric Cartmill was the best running back in the league this week. In 4 carries, he ran for 104 yards as Vian bested the Razorbacks. Teammate Daylon McWaters added to the ground attack by rushing for 100 yards.
5-foot-11 quarterback Zach Speer of Antlers is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,655. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Kyle Highley. The Pocola star has 35 catches for 855 yards.
Rylee Simon of the Brandon Tyler's team is only 97 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 107 carries Simon has accumulated 903 yard this year.
