Dillon has been on the road for four straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. The Dillon Wildcats and the East Clarendon Wolverines will face off at 4:30 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 85-46, which was the final score in Dillon's tilt against Lumberton on Thursday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Dillon came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 141st in South Carolina, while Lumberton is ranked 449th in North Carolina).
Despite the loss, Dillon had strong showings from Zamaurious Robertson, who scored 15 points, and Ta'norre Monroe, who scored 11 points. Robertson scored a full 32.6% of Dillon's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jafari Jones, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, East Clarendon's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by Manning at home and fell 66-38.
Dillon's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for East Clarendon, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
