The Wakpala Sioux lost against the St. Francis Indian Warriors back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Wakpala took a 46-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Francis Indian. Wakpala has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Among those leading the charge was John Gunhammer, who scored 19 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Ethan Spotted Tail, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Wakpala's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for St. Francis Indian, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Wakpala will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lemmon at 8:00 p.m. on January 9th. St. Francis Indian will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Mitchell Christian at 1:30 p.m. on January 6th.
