The Dixie Greyhounds''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 51-7 loss at the hands of Preble Shawnee. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dixie in their matchups with Preble Shawnee: they've now lost eight in a row.
Aiden Martin threw for 84 yards and a touchdown while completing 90.9% of his passes. Alexander Bess was his top target, picking up 50 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Trustin Miller rushed for 43 yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Preble Shawnee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brody Morton, who threw for 173 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes. Isaac Blankenship was another key contributor, gaining 75 total yards and two touchdowns.
Dixie's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Preble Shawnee, their win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-3.
Dixie will challenge Williamsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Williamsburg presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dixie in Ohio (Williamsburg is ranked 256th, while Dixie is ranked 654th). Preble Shawnee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
