Sparta extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 7-5 in the process. They never let the Greenville Yellow Jackets get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 10-3 win the Yellow Jackets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

The result came thanks to Taliya Dauser's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alaysia Hammock, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Grace Schmid, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Sparta hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive games.

As for Greenville, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6. The contest marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

On Greenville's side, Jenna Jenks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits. Jenks has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Greenville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Galey, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Sparta will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Yellow Jackets: the pair will be back at it again later today.
