Even though the Williamsburg Wildcats have not done well against the Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Williamsburg took their match at home with ease, bagging a 58-31 victory over Madeira. For Williamsburg, this counts as revenge for the 65-52 loss Madeira walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Despite the defeat, Madeira had strong showings from Peter Laux, who scored 4 points along with 9 rebounds, and Will Manning, who scored 9 points.
Williamsburg's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Madeira, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Williamsburg will head out on the road to face off against Georgetown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Madeira, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Goshen at 7:30 p.m.
