After a string of three wins, the Jonathan Alder Pioneers's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of Allen East by a score of 48-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Jonathan Alder has suffered yet this season.
Rilynn Jones was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with three steals for Allen East. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Soraya Jackson, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Jonathan Alder's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Allen East, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.
Jonathan Alder will be playing at home against Urbana at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Allen East, they will head out on the road to take on Crestview at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Crestview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
