The St. Paul Catholic Falcons waltzed into their game on Saturday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They snuck past Seymour with a 72-67 win. St. Paul Catholic's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Seymour lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jillian Keough, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 14 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Keough has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylar Barton, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds.
Seymour struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
St. Paul Catholic pushed their record up to 13-1 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Seymour, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Paul Catholic will take on Holy Cross at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holy Cross is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Seymour, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Watertown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Watertown is ranked 55th, while Seymour is ranked 56th).
