It was a good run, but the Parklane Academy Pioneers unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 64-53 to Oak Forest Academy. Parklane Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Oak Forest Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2018.
Parklane Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carlyle Carruth, who scored 15 points. The contest was Carruth's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Alford, who scored 15 points.
Parklane Academy's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6. As for Oak Forest Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Parklane Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Bowling Green at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Bowling Green is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. Oak Forest Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Brookhaven Academy at 6:15 p.m. on January 23rd.
