The Sullivan East Patriots waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 67-54 victory over Union. This was payback for Sullivan East, who suffered a 58-53 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Corbin Laisure was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 15 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 13 straight games. Tyler Cross was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Sullivan East's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Union, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.
Sullivan East and Non Varsity Opponent will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Non Varsity Opponent is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games. Union's road trip will continue as they head out to face Abingdon on January 26th. One thing working in Abingdon's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
