Canyon Springs will face off against Desert Pines in a playoff game on Friday. Both of these red-hot teams will try to put the other on ice to keep their winning streaks alive.
Canyon Springs earned some postseason bragging rights after a successful outing last week. They managed a 24-20 win over Arbor View.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Desert Pines. They took their matchup against Faith Lutheran by a conclusive 41-17 score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Jaguars had established a 34-11 advantage.
And it made life painful for the quarterback and got past Faith Lutheran's offensive line for a total of five sacks. Leading the way was Gabriel Lopez and his two sacks.
Canyon Springs took a serious blow against Desert Pines the last time the two teams met in October, falling 49-14. Can Canyon Springs avenge their loss, or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll soon find out.
