Jones County is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Gregory is on a eight-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Jones County Coyotes will take on the Gregory Gorillas at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Jones County earned a 51-42 victory over Lyman.
Jones County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cooper Feddersen led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Feddersen is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last six games he's played. Jett Nix was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Gregory stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They beat Avon by the very same score they won with last week: 72-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Gregory has posted against Avon since February 25, 2019.
Gregory can attribute much of their success to Cruz Klundt, who scored 17 points along with two steals, and Noah Bearshield, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Klundt has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Daniel Mitchell, who scored 14 points.
Jones County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Gregory, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the pair are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Jones County hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 57 points per game. However, it's not like Gregory struggles in that department as they've been averaging 62.2 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
