Volleyball Recap: Cookeville Starts Season with Victory Against Smyrna

Cookeville took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Smyrna Bulldogs as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won six in a row.

Cookeville never let Smyrna on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-16, 25-22.

Brecken Windle paced Cookeville's offense, picking up 11 kills. Windle got some help from Hannah Rich and her 12 assists. Windle was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Cookeville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Warren County on the 21st. As for Smyrna, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Lebanon on the 21st.
