Valley View has gone 9-1 against Paloma Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will take on the Wildcats at 3:45 p.m. Paloma Valley took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Valley View, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, Valley View earned a 5-2 win over Orange Vista.
Giselle Morales spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jacqueline Divine, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Barrios, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Valley View hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 12 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Paloma Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 11-5 to Liberty.
Paloma Valley got a big performance out of Kennedi McGee, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lynda Guerra, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Paloma Valley's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Valley View, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Valley View hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 2 home runs per game. However, it's not like Paloma Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Valley View took their victory against Paloma Valley in their previous matchup on April 10th by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
