On Friday, The Kapolei Hurricanes faced the Moanalua Menehune in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Kapolei blew past Moanalua, posting a 68-33 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Kapolei, who have now won six games by 34 points or more so far this season.
Liatama "Tama" Amisone continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 189 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 333 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes. Amisone was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. Kaina Kamohali'i was another key contributor, picking up 216 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Kapolei's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.6 points per game. As for Moanalua, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7-1.
Kapolei will head out on the road to face off against Kahuku at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kahuku is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games. Moanalua does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
