Basketball Game Preview: Winslow Bulldogs vs. Show Low Cougars

The Winslow Bulldogs will face off against the Show Low Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Winslow turned things around against St. Johns on Tuesday. They breezed by the Redskins to the tune of 78-45. The contest marked the Bulldogs' most dominant win of the season.

Winslow had a senior duo take command as Isaac David dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 boards and Izaak Panana went 9 of 13 on his way to 23 points and five assists. David's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Curtis, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 10 points along with five boards and four steals.

Winslow smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Show Low was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 83-81 heartbreaker at the hands of Florence. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Gophers are ranked 39th).

Show Low's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-10. As for Winslow, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.
